The 14th city campaign «Rowerem do pracy i szkoły – Kręć Kilometry dla Gdańska» has started in Gdańsk. Until November 30, residents of the city can ride their bikes to work, school, and for everyday errands, earn points, compete, and win prizes.
Autumn in Gdańsk will once again be marked by bicycles. Starting from September 1, the city’s residents can join the campaign “Kręć Kilometry dla Gdańska” and turn their regular trips around the city into a sports competition.
The promotion will last until November 30, 2026. Participants only need to register in the Activy app, which tracks trips and awards points for them.
Points — for trips around the city
Participants earn points for bike rides, and additional points can be earned for routes home — work, school, or university. The system allows for competition both individually and in teams.
The campaign can involve not only individual residents. Teams are created by companies, schools, universities, and other institutions, so the competition takes place at several levels.
The accumulated points can be exchanged in the app for ActiveCoiny — a special currency of the campaign, which can be used to obtain bicycle accessories and other rewards.
You can not only compete but also help animals
The campaign also has a charitable component. Participants can direct the accumulated ActiveCoins to a special donation for the Gdańsk shelter PROMYK.
In previous campaigns, the residents of the city have already helped the shelter in this way. Just last year, over 34 thousand zlotys were raised in support of it.
Prizes — not just for the fastest
The organizers have prepared awards for the most active participants and teams. This year, there is also a recommendation system: additional benefits can be obtained by inviting friends, relatives, and colleagues to the event.
The competition also extends to organizations. Companies and universities can apply for the European Cycling-Friendly Employer Certificate — a certificate for employers that supports bicycle mobility.
Separate awards are provided for schools, and the winning districts of Gdańsk will be able to receive new bicycle racks.
Gdańsk has already traveled millions of kilometers
The scale of the event is growing year by year. In 2024, 6,895 people actively participated, covering a total of more than 4.2 million kilometers.
According to the organizers’ calculations, these trips managed to avoid approximately 567 tons of CO₂ emissions.

Participation in the campaign is an opportunity to combine daily commutes, physical activity, competition, and assistance to the city shelter. The more kilometers the residents of Gdańsk travel, the more noticeable the effect will be for the city itself.
