Residents of Gdańsk and the entire Tricity area can now return deposit bottles and cans without leaving their homes. The new service allows customers to hand over their containers to a courier during grocery delivery.
The service was launched by the online supermarket Frisco. It operates in Gdańsk, Gdynia, and Sopot. The courier picks up empty packaging during the order delivery — without trips to the store and without waiting in line at machines.
This is especially convenient for residents of large residential complexes, where it is difficult to store bags of empty bottles. There are already concerns in the city that after the system launches, return machines will be overloaded — especially on weekends and after the tourist season.
Now it’s simpler: the customer receives special bags, collects the containers, and hands them over to the courier with the next order. Up to two bags can be returned at once.
Any container from the deposit system can be returned — it doesn’t matter where it was purchased. The main thing is that the packaging has the appropriate labeling.
No receipt is needed. Bottles and cans must be empty, not crushed, and with labels. You can also use your own bag — as long as it is tightly closed.
After verification, the money for the containers is returned automatically: either to the account or in the form of a shopping coupon. If you regularly buy drinks, you can accumulate several dozen zlotys in a month.
