It is impossible to imagine a vacation on the Baltic Sea without walks along the promenade and local sweets. However, the prices for these pleasures in popular tourist towns can seriously hit the wallet. This was confirmed by a vacationer who was charged nearly 70 zlotys for a modest dessert set.
As reported by the portal Fakt.pl, a tourist vacationing in Władysławowo decided to buy popular seaside treats for her family. She ordered two waffles with toppings and ice cream. The main surprise awaited her at the checkout — the total on the receipt amounted to almost 70 zlotys. The woman admitted that she was prepared for higher summer prices, but such a bill was still unexpected for her.
“I was stunned: almost 70 zlotys for two waffles and ice cream. This ‘party’ turned out to be expensive,” the tourist told the Fakt portal.
Prices on the Baltic are shocking
Just a few years ago, waffles were considered one of the cheapest vacation treats. Now, for the simplest version, without toppings, you have to pay 10–11 zlotys. Waffles with whipped cream, fruits, or syrup will cost 20–30 zlotys each.
Ice cream cafes are not any cheaper: in many seaside resorts, one serving of ice cream already costs 8–10 zlotys. For a family spending their vacation at the sea, such a dessert can turn into an expense of several dozen zlotys. Therefore, with the start of the vacation season, discussions about high bills regularly resurface.
