Heat in Gdańsk. Where to find coolness: map of water misting systems and drinking fountains

The first wave of summer heat has arrived in Gdańsk. To help cope with the heat, the city authorities have launched a cooling system and ensured free access to drinking water. We tell you where you can refresh yourself on hot days.

Where the cooling misting systems are operating

Specjalne instalacje mgłowe włączają się automatycznie, gdy temperatura powietrza przekracza 26°C. Rozpylają drobne krople wody, tworząc orzeźwiającą mgłę i obniżając temperaturę otaczającego powietrza. Wieczorem struktury są podświetlane przez diody LED zasilane panelami słonecznymi.

Currently, such installations are operating:

  • at Gdańskie Zoo;
  • in the Hevelianum area;
  • near Galeria Przymorze;
  • in the Garrison area;
  • next to Forum Gdańsk.
  • at the entrance to the pier in Brzeźno;
  • near the Museum of the Second World War and the European Solidarity Centre
  • at Skwer Kobzdeja, Targ Węglowy, Targ Rybny, and near Zielona Brama
  • near the Madison shopping center.

64 drinking fountains throughout the city

During the heat, it is especially important to drink water regularly. Gdańsk has 64 publicly accessible drinking fountains that can be used for free. The water in the city network undergoes constant quality control and meets all sanitary standards
