Last Friday, officers from the criminal department of the police station on ul. Kartuskiej detained a 48-year-old man suspected of extortion. In the same apartment, there was a 41-year-old man, who was found to have a significant amount of narcotic substances, including hashish and amphetamine.
Regarding the 48-year-old suspect, the prosecutor chose a measure of police supervision, while the second man was sent to temporary detention at the request of the prosecutor.
As established by law enforcement, on Friday (April 24), a report of extortion was received at the VIII police station in Gdańsk, which may have occurred between April 16 and 18. On the same day, operatives targeted one of the apartments in Gdańsk, where, according to their information, the alleged criminal might be located.
During the operation, the 48-year-old suspect was detained. Along with him in the apartment was his 41-year-old acquaintance. During the search, police officers discovered drugs belonging to him: approximately 1.8 kg of amphetamine, 75 g of hashish, and over 212 g of methamphetamine.
On Saturday, the District Court in Gdańsk-Połnoc in Gdańsk granted the prosecutor’s request and imposed a three-month detention on the 41-year-old man. He faces up to 12 years in prison. For the second suspect, the prosecutor applied police supervision.
