On Sunday, retro buses will be launched in Gdańsk, and rides will be free

History and urban transport enthusiasts will be able to see Gdańsk from a new perspective. In honor of the 100th anniversary of public transport, residents are invited to take rides on historic buses. On Sunday, April 26, three legendary models will hit the routes.

For the anniversary event, three different routes have been prepared, passing through the historic districts of Gdańsk and the former shipyard areas. Guides will be on board the buses to share stories about the places along the route.

Legendary buses on the streets of the city

Three well-known models will be on the routes: Ikarus 260, Mercedes O405N, and MAN NL 283.

Each bus will operate on a separate route. The MAN NL 283 will travel through Bramę Wyżynną, the Main Train Station, and the European Solidarity Centre area, before returning to the starting point at Śródmieście SKM.

The Ikarus 260 will take passengers to the Łagiewnik area, Wałowa Street, and the Museum of the Second World War.

The Mercedes O405N will pass through Targ Drzewny, Podwale Staromiejskie, and the train station area.

Buses will depart from Śródmieście SKM every few minutes, with each trip taking about 30 minutes. This way, during the three-hour event, everyone will have the opportunity to take a ride

The first trip will start at 12:00, and the last buses will finish around 15:00. Participation in the event is completely free.

Additional activities have been prepared for participants. Even before the buses depart, all exhibits can be closely examined at the Śródmieście SKM stop.

Animators will create an atmosphere of past years: to music from old times, they will offer games familiar from the childhood of previous generations.
