A man stole a hairdryer and a curling iron worth over 3,600 zlotys. A few days later, he returned to the same store, and when he was recognized, he tried to evade responsibility by giving the police his twin brother’s details.
Last Tuesday, police from the precinct in Wrzesiń received a report that a man had entered an electronics store who had stolen a curling iron and a hairdryer worth over 3,600 zlotys a few days earlier
The criminal was identified by a security guard, who detained him and notified the police
The officers checked the man's identity, but he made an unusual attempt to evade responsibility
— The detained man insisted all the time that he had stolen nothing and that he was probably mistaken for his twin brother, — reports KMP in Gdańsk. — However, after checking the police systems, comparing photographs, and analyzing criminal records, it turned out that he is a different person, not the one he claimed to be.
The 34-year-old man tried to mislead the police, hoping that by providing his brother's details, he would evade criminal responsibility
However, the plan did not work: he was charged with two counts of theft of property worth over 3,600 zlotys. For this, he faces up to 5 years in prison
