Obtaining a driver's license in Poland may soon become significantly more difficult. The Ministry of Infrastructure is preparing a large-scale reform aimed at improving the quality of driver training and the level of road safety. Future candidates will face stricter restrictions
The agency is considering a deep restructuring of the examination system. According to media reports, a strict rule may be introduced in the country: after three unsuccessful attempts to pass the state exam, a candidate will temporarily lose the right to retake the exam
According to the proposed changes, a person who fails the exam three times will be required to return to driving school. There, they will have to complete an additional course of practical lessons under the supervision of an instructor. Only after successfully passing the internal exam will they be able to register again for the state test. And this is just part of the planned innovations.
The changes may also affect the validity period of completed training. Currently, the rules remain quite liberal: the right to take the exam at the WORD is not time-limited. However, the ministry is considering the possibility of introducing clear time frames — for example, setting a validity period of 12 months for the course. After this period, the candidate will need to refresh their knowledge or even undergo training again.
Na razie procedura uzyskania prawa jazdy kategorii B pozostaje niezmieniona i dobrze znana. Przed zapisaniem się na egzamin państwowy kandydat musi ukończyć szkolenie w wybranej szkole jazdy. Obejmuje to dwa główne etapy:
— theoretical course — at least 30 academic hours;
— practical lessons — a minimum of 30 hours of driving with an instructor.
The training concludes with an internal exam, which opens access to taking the exam at the Voivodeship Road Traffic Center (WORD). There, the candidate first takes a theoretical test, and then, if successful, demonstrates practical skills — on a driving range and in urban traffic conditions.
