On Saturday, the Equality March will take place in Gdańsk: part of the city center will be closed off

On Saturday, June 6, the Tricity Equality March will take place in the center of Gdańsk. The start is scheduled for 16:00 from Skwer Świętopełka, and the procession will conclude at Stoczni Cesarskiej. Drivers should be prepared for traffic difficulties — it is better to avoid the march route on this day

The march is organized for the eleventh time by the association Tolerado, which operates in support of the LGBT community. This year, the event will take place under the slogan “Równość wieje od morza!” (“Equality blows from the sea!”).

The procession will begin at 16:00, but from 14:00, there will be a “March Town” with entertainment for participants at Skwer Świętopełka.

Participants will walk through the streets of Szeroka, Podwale Staromiejskie, Rajska, Wały Piastowskie, then turn onto Łagiewniki, Wałowa, and Rybaki Górne, before finishing the route at Stoczni Cesarskiej.

The organizers note:
“It’s time to start a new decade of the Tricity march — the XI Equality March will spill a colorful wave through the streets of Tricity on the first weekend of June. (…) We know that in Pomerania, it ‘breathes a little differently’ (not only thanks to the legendary iodine). Therefore, we dream that from here, from Pomerania — a place where the winds of change and freedom have always blown — the stormy wind of equality will blow as well!”

During the march, significant traffic disruptions are expected along its route. Drivers are advised to avoid the center of Gdańsk from 16:00 to 19:00 (and even earlier). The police urge the use of detours.
