Kino na Szekspirowskim: na dachu z widokiem na Gdańsk

This weekend in Gdańsk, a new season of one of the most atmospheric summer projects — Kino na Szekspirowskim — kicks off. For the 11th time, screenings will take place on the rooftop of the Teatr Szekspirowski with a view of the old town.

The format is inspired by rooftop cinema in New York and remains unique to Poland. The program includes festival hits and winners of the biggest film awards.

Culinary Świętojańska

Świętojańska Street will transform into a gastronomic boulevard for the ninth time: restaurants from the Culinary Route of downtown Gdynia, regional producers and artisans, sourdough bread, craft ice cream, specialty coffee, and local honey. The program includes live cooking demonstrations, a discussion panel on the culinary history of the city, a Waiters’ Race, a culinary quiz, a jazz dance party with an open swing lesson, and a science show for children from Centrum Nauki Experyment.

Gdynia Sailing Days 2026

The largest sailing festival in Poland will stretch over 41 days in its jubilee year. About 1,400 participants will take part in 10 regattas: from the Optimist class for young athletes to the 49er, 470, Finn, Micro, and Star classes. The festival will serve as the final major test of strength before the World Sailing Championship 2027 in Gdynia. On the shore, guests can look forward to workshops, exhibitions, educational zones, and interactive areas.

Sea Festival Parade

A colorful procession of sailors, yachtsmen, maritime organizations, and city residents will take place along Bulwarze Nadmorskim. The tradition of the parade has existed in Gdynia since 1932, and its revival in the year of the city's centenary is particularly symbolic. Participants can look forward to a contest for the best maritime costume, and the finale will be the ceremonial handing over of the keys to the city to the people of the sea. Anyone interested can join the procession.

Smile Festival

A family celebration organized by the "Wujek Dobre Serce" foundation with zones for every taste: collaborative mural creation and craft workshops, sports activities, animation and inflatable attractions for children, culinary masterclasses with Gdańsk chefs, as well as a real fire truck and ambulance in the safety zone

A special attraction for car enthusiasts is the legendary Ford Mustang, which you can take a photo with. The festival will feature a charity collection: all funds raised will go towards organizing summer vacations for children from orphanages and low-income families

Family Opera Picnic

An educational family event as part of the 4th Baltic Opera Festival, inspired by Richard Wagner’s opera «Das Rheingold». Queer cinema by Polish authors 

“III Queerowe Kino w Windzie” — this is three short queer stories and a discussion with the filmmakers. As part of the LGBTQ+ Pride Month, Winda GAK invites you to a screening of Polish short films from recent years. The cinema tells about everyday life, relationships, the search for oneself, and the experiences of LGBTQ+ people, whose voices are rarely heard in the mainstream.

Dreams of Gdynia – contemporary art festival 

A contemporary art festival dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Gdynia. Exhibitions and artistic projects are located in urban spaces and experimental venues.

Contemporary art exhibitions will be held in pop-up spaces throughout the center of Gdynia and will be available until September 27. The project involves around 40 artists

Ferry to the Vistula Spit

As of May 1, the ferry from Gdańsk’s Świbno to Mikoszewo in the Stegna commune has resumed operation. This is a convenient and quick way to get from Gdańsk towards Krynica Morska, shortening the journey by 23 kilometers.

From May 1 to September 30, the ferry operates daily from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Under standard conditions, departures are every 30 minutes. However, during peak hours, the service switches to continuous operation to transport all interested passengers. The specified time refers to departures from the Świbno side.

Estimated rates for the 2026 season:
— passenger car — 30 zł (for locals — 15 zł, passengers included);
— camper or minibus — 35 zł (for locals — 17.5 zł);
— motorcycle — 15 zł (for locals — 7.5 zł);
