The fortieth humanitarian convoy of the Zupa na Monciaku foundation from Gdańsk delivered 12 tons of aid to Ukrainian soldiers, medics, and civilians. The cargo passed through Lviv, and then the head of the foundation, Aleksandra Kamińska, continued the journey on her own. The entire trip took four weeks, and the route exceeded 8,000 kilometers.
“The scheme is always the same. Buses take me to the border. Then I switch to a pickup and continue with a truck full of things,” says Kamińska.
According to her, during the unloading, there is hardly any talk of charity or solidarity. Instead, there are short conversations, handshakes, smiles, and sometimes tears.
“You drink coffee standing up, listening to the stories of the fighting soldiers. In the hospital, we most often meet in the basement, where the medics work. There’s time for a quick handshake, a short conversation,” says the head of the foundation.
Assistance from Gdańsk has been delivered to the Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions. Military personnel and medical staff received drone detectors, generators, batteries, Starlink, laptops, and other equipment
Hospital beds, bedding, medicines, medical equipment, bandages, blankets, and wheelchairs have been collected for hospitals. Volunteers also delivered food, hygiene products, and several tons of dog and cat food.
A total of 725 people participated in the collection, as well as companies, schools, and organizations
Kamińska brought with her to Gdańsk a black wing of the Shahed-136 drone, which recently attacked a fuel station where the convoy had stopped multiple times
The next trip is planned for early September. In August, the foundation will be raising funds for a new convoy.
