Where can foreigners in Poland receive free legal assistance? We discuss organizations, consultations with lawyers, and support regarding documents, residence permits, and migrant rights
1. State Points of Free Legal Assistance (NPP)
To jest główny system bezpłatnych konsultacji w Polsce. Pomoc świadczą prawnicy (adwokat), doradcy prawni (radca prawny) oraz konsultanci. W kraju działa około 1500 takich punktów, zlokalizowanych w każdym powiecie.
They assist with issues such as:
- employment contracts and conflicts with employers
- housing rentals;
- debts and loans;
- family matters;
- inheritance;
- administrative issues;
- preparation of letters and applications;

You can register:
- through the state registration system;
- at the city office (urząd miasta);
- at the gmina office (urząd gminy);
- at the starostwo (starostwo powiatowe).
2. Free Assistance for Foreigners
Foreigners residing in Poland can also benefit from the system of free legal assistance. There is no need to have refugee status or apply for international protection. Consultations are available in person and remotely (for example, by phone or online)
They assist with issues such as:
- karta pobytu (residence card);
- legalization of stay;
- work permits;
- rights of foreigners;
- contacts with government authorities.
