BALTOPS 2026 — the largest NATO naval exercises in the Baltic Sea. Ships from several dozen countries of the North Atlantic Alliance will participate, including Polish units from the 3rd and 8th flotillas.

As noted by the inspector of the Navy, Vice Admiral Jarosław Ziemiański, the main goal of the exercises is to improve procedures and cooperation within NATO.
— The focus is primarily on elements related to detecting and countering threats from drones: aerial, surface, and underwater, eliminating mine hazards — which is particularly important — as well as detecting and combating submarines, as well as air and missile defense, — Vice Admiral Ziemiański listed.
The BALTOPS 2026 exercises will last until June 19. Their conclusion is planned in Kiel, Germany.
