In Pruszcz Gdański, foreigners were detained in a case of falsifying student documents

Three people have been detained as part of an investigation into the activities of an organized crime group that legalized the stay and employment of foreigners in Poland using forged documents.

The investigation established that foreigners working at one of the warehouses in Pomorze were using fake student IDs and certificates of student status. The scheme was allegedly organized by a married couple who ran an employment agency with offices in Poznań, Bydgoszcz, and Pruszcz Gdański.

— Foreigners received forged documents — student IDs and certificates — for about 1200 zlotys. These documents were used to confirm the legality of their stay and work in Poland, — reported Violeta Noh from the District Prosecutor’s Office in Gdańsk.

Investigators seized personnel documentation, electronic equipment, mobile phones, and new forged documents. Three people have been detained: the spouses Katarzyna and Nazar D., as well as a Belarusian citizen Polina H. All have been charged, facing a sentence of eight to fifteen years in prison.
