On Wednesday, July 29, Volodymyr Zelensky met with the Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk. «We discussed defense cooperation and key issues related to protecting our cities and societies from brutal attacks by Russia,» the President of Ukraine reported. He also emphasized the safety of Ukrainians in Poland.
“We discussed many bilateral issues, including the historical dialogue between our countries. I spoke about our diplomatic work in Washington,” wrote Zelensky.
He paid special attention to Ukrainians who are in Poland due to the war
„Rozmawialiśmy również o wyzwaniach związanych z bezpieczeństwem, które niestety dotyczą także naszych ludzi: ważne jest, aby Ukraińcy, którzy opuścili swoje domy z powodu wojny i znaleźli schronienie w Polsce, czuli się bezpiecznie” – zauważył Prezydent Ukrainy, kończąc swoje przesłanie słowami wdzięczności.
Earlier, Donald Tusk also spoke about the meeting. According to him, Zelensky informed him about the progress of negotiations in Washington. Polish investments in Ukraine, cooperation in missile defense, and further support for Ukraine in the war with Russia were also discussed
The visit to Lublin was Zelensky's first trip to Poland after the recent cooling of relations between Kyiv and Warsaw
