Starting from Friday, May 1, a Central Paid Parking Zone (ŚSPP) will come into effect in Sopot, covering the city center, as well as a Paid Parking Zone (SPP). The changes will also affect the rates — they will vary depending on the zone.
According to officials, the new zone is intended to organize parking in the city center. The changes are expected to increase vehicle turnover, which in turn will enhance the availability of parking spaces
TWO PARKING ZONES
Starting in May, there will be two zones in Sopot where parking fees will be charged
- The central paid parking zone (red), which will cover most of the current SPP. The ŚSPP ticket will also be valid in the SPP. Payment in this zone is charged throughout the week
- Strefa płatnego parkowania (niebieska) obejmie obszary ulic: 1 Maja, 23 Marca, Grottgera, Moniuszki, Rzemieślniczej oraz Jana z Kolna. Płatność jest wymagana od poniedziałku do piątku.
DISCOUNTS AND AMENITIES
Residents of Sopot with the Karta Sopocka and the corresponding packages (Pakiet Mieszkańca and Pakiet Parkingowy) can expect additional benefits
- do 2 godzin darmowego parkowania dziennie (od poniedziałku do soboty)
- the possibility to split this time into two shorter periods (2 times a maximum of 1 hour each)
- completely free parking on Sundays.
These benefits apply in all areas of the city (ŚSPP and SPP)
PAYMENT ALSO ON WEEKENDS
The main change is the introduction of payment on weekends. In SPP, payment is still charged only on weekdays, while in the new ŚSPP it is charged daily (with the exception of certain holidays: Easter Sunday, Easter Monday, November 1, December 24, 25, and 26)
Godziny otwarcia stref będą zależały od sezonu:
- from April 1 to September 30: 9:00 AM–10:00 PM,
- from October 1 to March 31: 9:00 AM–8:00 PM.
CHANGES IN RATES
Wprowadzenie ŚSPP oznacza zmiany w kosztach parkowania, szczególnie w najbardziej atrakcyjnych i ruchliwych częściach miasta. Stawki godzinowe będą wyższe niż w obecnej strefie:
- first hour: 9.50 zł,
- second hour: 11.00 zł,
- third hour: 13.00 zł,
- each subsequent: 9.50 zł.
TARIFFS IN SPP
The streets: Artura Grottgera, Stanisława Moniuszki (up to the junction with Hotel Opera), 1 Maja, 23 Marca (up to ul. Armii Krajowej), Jana z Kolna (from the overpass above the railway tracks), Rzemieślnicza, which are part of the paid parking zone, will have the following rates:
- minimum payment: 1.00 zł,
- first hour: 7.20 zł,
- second hour: 8.60 zł,
- third hour: 10.30 zł,
- the fourth hour and subsequent ones: 7.20 zł.
SUBSCRIPTIONS WITHOUT CHANGES
Koszt subskrypcji pozostaje bez zmian. Oznacza to, że mieszkańcy i użytkownicy stref będą płacić tyle samo co wcześniej, w tym:
- fixed fee for residents: 10 zł / 30 days,
- resident subscription: 100 zł / 30 days,
- subscription for people with disabilities: 5 zł / 30 days
- general subscription: 500 zł / 30 days.
THE COLORS OF PARKING METERS
To make it easier for drivers to navigate, parking meters will be marked with colors corresponding to the zones of ŚSPP and SPP — red and blue, respectively
PENALTIES
The absence of payment for parking results in a fine of 300 zł (the reduced payment of 200 zł has been canceled)
